Refund Policy

Last updated: September 2026

The short version

Subscriptions are non-refundable for the period already paid; you can cancel anytime to stop future charges. Live-lesson credits are refundable to your account balance only under the cancellation rules below — they are not refundable to your payment method except where required by law. Donations are non-refundable.

1. The paid IELTS plan

1.1 The plan is sold at three commit lengths — 1, 3 or 6 months — and auto-renews at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period. You keep access to all paid features until then.

1.2 No partial refunds. We do not refund part of a period. Once a period has been charged and started it is non-refundable, even if you stop using the service early or cancel mid-period. A 3- or 6-month commit is one period: cancelling in month two of a 6-month plan does not refund the remaining four.

1.3 Failed renewals. If your renewal payment fails, we'll retry per Razorpay's standard retry schedule. After the retry window, your subscription moves to halted and paid features are locked until you re-authorize payment.

1.4 Statutory rights. Where consumer law in your country mandates a statutory cooling-off or refund right (e.g. EU 14-day right of withdrawal), that right applies and overrides this section. Email us within the statutory window to invoke it.

1.5 Both IELTS courses included. IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training are not sold separately. The one plan opens both, at every commit length. Anyone who bought a single course before this change keeps it for the period they paid for.

2. Lesson packages and single lessons

2.1 Credit-based. When you buy a lesson package, you receive credits bound to a specific lesson length (30, 45, or 60 minutes). Credits expire at the end of their validity window (see the package details on /packages) and are non-extendable.

2.2 Non-refundable to your card. Once purchased, packages and single lessons are non-refundable to your original payment method, except where required by applicable consumer law. Refunds permitted under the cancellation rules below are returned as credits to your account balance, usable on any future booking of the same lesson length until expiry.

2.3 Length-bound. A 30-minute credit cannot be redeemed for a 45- or 60-minute lesson, and vice versa. This is enforced at booking.

2.4 Expired credits. Credits that expire are not refundable in any form, regardless of whether they were used.

3. When YOU cancel a booked lesson

3.1 12 or more hours before the lesson: the credit is returned to your account balance (no fee). The teacher receives no payment for that slot.

3.2 Less than 12 hours before the lesson: the credit is forfeited (you do not get it back). The teacher receives ⅓ of the lesson rate as late-cancellation compensation; we retain the rest as platform fee.

3.3 Cancellation cap. You may make up to 10 refunded cancellations per calendar month under clause 3.1. From the 11th cancellation in the same calendar month onwards, the credit is forfeited regardless of how much notice you give. This stops accidental abuse of teacher availability and resets on the 1st of each month.

4. When the TEACHER cancels a booked lesson

4.1 If a teacher cancels at any notice, your credit is fully restored to your account balance at no cost to you. We'll notify you by email and via the in-app notification.

4.2 Where the cancellation is short-notice and you had blocked time for the lesson, contact support — we may issue a goodwill credit on a case-by-case basis. This is discretionary, not guaranteed.

5. No-shows

5.1 If you do not show up: the credit is forfeited, the teacher is paid in full, and the lesson is marked as completed.

5.2 If the teacher does not show up: your credit is fully restored to your account balance and the teacher is not paid for that lesson. Tell us via support if this happens.

6. Service-quality complaints

If a lesson genuinely failed to deliver because of a teacher problem (no audio, the teacher was unprepared, etc.), please report it via the post-lesson review or to support within 7 days. We investigate every report — including by reviewing the platform recording — and may at our discretion restore the credit, issue a free-lesson credit as goodwill, or take action against the teacher under the Teacher Partner Agreement. We do not refund to your payment method for service-quality complaints; remedies are credit-based.

7. Donations

Donations made via the "Support Us" page are voluntary and entirely non-refundable. They're processed by Razorpay; we never see or store your card details.

8. Chargebacks

Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank — most issues can be resolved quickly through support. Filing a chargeback bypasses our refund process and incurs fees we absorb; we reserve the right to suspend the account associated with any chargeback that could have been resolved by writing to us first, and to take collection action for the disputed amount plus chargeback fees.

9. How to request a refund or restore a credit

For anything covered above, the system handles it automatically — credits return to your balance on cancellation, and refunds (where applicable) are processed within 7–10 business days via Razorpay. For anything else, write to us through our contact page with your account email and the relevant payment ID. We aim to respond within 3 business days.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes are reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for substantive changes, by email. The policy in force at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
